WHEREAS Phyllis Meshel Onest has faithfully accepted and answered the Sacred Call of the Lord Jesus Christ to “Feed His Sheep” by promoting Religious Education.

WHEREAS Phyllis Meshel Onest earned a Master of Divinity degree becoming one of the first women graduates of Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Theological School.

WHEREAS Phyllis Meshel Onest was the first salaried Religious Education Director of a Metropolis within the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America.

WHEREAS Phyllis Meshel Onest continues her ministry with the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Pittsburgh while conducting seminars and workshops throughout the country, to the benefit of countless Orthodox Christians in the United States.

It is resolved on this 5th day of February 2004, that the Metropolitan Council of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Pittsburgh hereby congratulates and thanks Phyllis Meshel Onest on the completion of 10 years of service to the Metropolis of Pittsburgh as Religious Education Director.
